Talking about Students: 'Vagina' suspensions unwarranted - TODAY: People - MSNBC.com

I used to think that the U.S. was the teenage girl of the world, with anything having to do with sex being declared "Gross - no way!"

I apologize to the teenage girls for the slight. Clearly, the U.S. still aspires to mature to the level of teenage girl.

I'm proud of these girls! I'd stand beside them - and my own daughter's willingness to challenge the status quo might afford me the chance to stand next to her in a similar situation some day. :)

It floors me that those who indulge in obscenity / profanity are often regarded as uneducated or "sounding like they've never read a book in their lives" (?). I can't help but suspect that those who cast such aspersions are equally troubled by the appropriate use of the word vagina. Or, heavens forbid, penis.

Talking about Justice Department: FBI acted illegally - U.S. Security - MSNBC.com

In a sick way, it's reassuring to know that the anxiety I felt during the administration's post 9-11 power grab was well-founded. The Justice Department did precisely what was expected.

This section from the article sums it up nicely:

Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., another member on the judiciary panel, said the report "proves that 'trust us' doesn't cut it."
